The Clown's Melancholy
The life of a court jester is a wretched one.
Every single day, I flatter corrupt nobles,
serve as His Majesty the King's punching bag,
and now I'm walking a tightrope between two princesses.
My eternal liege, the First Princess.
And the Second Princess, still so young and pure.
"I have never once imagined a version of myself who did not become king.
I cannot permit my path to be blocked at this late hour."
But she is only ten years old.
"The fact that she is a political rival who threatens the throne remains unchanged."
Jesters must always protect the innocence of children.
"I swear before God, that child will be eliminated without fail."
Your Highness,
the loyalty I offer you carries the smell of blood.
And yet the moon we gaze upon together......
how can it be so beautiful?
Two princesses,
one throne.
